Giants Everywhere

Oh, those giants we face in life. I doubt if anyone can make it through life and not face some giants in their life. I am not talking about a person, but a situation here.

God never said that we wouldn’t face big issues (those giants) in our life. We live in a fallen world where evil is all around us. Expect the issues of life, but know even in the worst of giant situations that Jesus will walk through it with you and me.

Jesus did not say we would avoid all the giants that are coming our way. He said that in this world we would have tribulations…and that also includes the giants we must face in life as well. We can either whine and complain about them or face them head on by dealing with them…in a godly manner.

When I consider the story of David and the giant Goliath it gives us hope. None of the other people would go out and face the problem…but then came the teenager David who did. He didn’t understand why people were just sitting there and doing nothing. So he went out and faced that giant and in one shot with a sling and rock…the giant died.

How often do we lose the battles we face in life because we sit and do nothing, or we go out and do things that are against what God’s word says in our way to fight our battles in life. Many times we lose our battles even before we begin to fight our battles. How often do we forget we have a God who will stand there with us? How often do we trust in ourselves to fight instead of letting God be God and because He is God…He has given us His armor, but even more He will be right there with us. Use His armor correctly and that includes using His word to fight with.

Our attitude in life when we come against our giants…it matters! Attitude always matters! Our attitude defines us. When you think about David do you think why he won the battle. He won that battle because he fought that battle in the name of God Almighty. He could not have won on his own…but bring God into the battle of life and all of us can be victorious. No, that doesn’t mean we win everything…because not everything is a battle we should be fighting. Some battles we bring upon ourself.

What giants are you facing right now? How big are they? Do you really want to go it alone? I sure don’t want to face the real giants that come upon us in our life. Things like: physical illness, emotional issues, family issues, rejection even by those we love…the losses of so many kinds…distress, anxiety, panic attacks…and the list is endless. I don’t want to face any of this without my Lord right there with me.

So today…look at your life and see what giants are right there before you. How did you come to this? What are you going to have to face? Now put God Almighty: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit into this situation and no matter what you face God really is there with you. You can trust Him completely. Will you? Will you really trust God to help get you through your giants.

No one likes the giants of life when they cause us pain and suffering, and God never said we would make it through like without issues…but He will walk it with us…and yes, I have said that before. Our problems in life can have a miracle ending at times, but if we must go through them do it with God.

We all need courage…and we can have it when we put God first in our life and ask Him for wisdom, strenth, understanding, and power to face life while we are here on earth.

Matthew 4 NLT

The Temptation of Jesus
1Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted there by the devil.

2For forty days and forty nights he fasted and became very hungry.

3During that time the devil came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become loaves of bread.”

4But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say,‘People do not live by bread alone,
but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ ”

5Then the devil took him to the holy city, Jerusalem, to the highest point of the Temple,

6and said, “If you are the Son of God, jump off! For the Scriptures say,
‘He will order his angels to protect you. And they will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.’”

7Jesus responded, “The Scriptures also say, ‘You must not test the Lord your God.’”

8Next the devil took him to the peak of a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.

9“I will give it all to you,” he said, “if you will kneel down and worship me.”

10 “Get out of here, Satan,” Jesus told him. “For the Scriptures say,‘You must worship the Lord your God and serve only him.’ ”

11Then the devil went away, and angels came and took care of Jesus.
The Ministry of Jesus Begins

12When Jesus heard that John had been arrested, he left Judea and returned to Galilee.

13He went first to Nazareth, then left there and moved to Capernaum, beside the Sea of Galilee, in the region of Zebulun and Naphtali.

14This fulfilled what God said through the prophet Isaiah:

15“In the land of Zebulun and of Naphtali, beside the sea, beyond the Jordan River, in Galilee where so many Gentiles live,

16the people who sat in darkness have seen a great light. And for those who lived in the land where death casts its shadow, a light has shined.”

17From then on Jesus began to preach, “Repent of your sins and turn to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near.” The First Disciples

18One day as Jesus was walking along the shore of the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers—Simon, also called Peter, and Andrew—throwing a net into the water, for they fished for a living.

19Jesus called out to them, “Come, follow me, and I will show you how to fish for people!”

20And they left their nets at once and followed him.

21A little farther up the shore he saw two other brothers, James and John, sitting in a boat with their father, Zebedee, repairing their nets. And he called them to come, too.

22They immediately followed him, leaving the boat and their father behind.
Crowds Follow Jesus

23Jesus traveled throughout the region of Galilee, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness.

24News about him spread as far as Syria, and people soon began bringing to him all who were sick. And whatever their sickness or disease, or if they were demon possessed or epileptic or paralyzed—he healed them all.

25Large crowds followed him wherever he went—people from Galilee, the Ten Towns, Jerusalem, from all over Judea, and from east of the Jordan River.

May you have a very blessed, safe, and healthy day.
