Meat Pies/from England

Also called pastie pie

3 cups flour
1 cup shorting
1 1/2 tsp salt
8-10 tab cold water

In bowl, mix flours, shortning and salt with pastry blender or fork…until crumbly. Add water and mix by hand till you can roll into balls (2)

Roll out on flowered towel

filling: 1 pound round steak or sirloin steak…I prefer sirloin
2 cups potatoes diced really small
1 1/2 tsp salt
pepper
garlic optional

chop all very tiny and mix together

put all this in the bottom crust….
put 2 tab of water over this…
put 2 tsp of margarine in little spots around it

put top crust on and then poke a couple holes in the top

Bake 350 for 45-70 min until golden brown
