Pumpkin Cookies: Old fashioned: Soft

These cookies are good and they have glaze on them.

2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking power
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup libbys solid pack pumpkin 1 1/2 is better
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla

In medium bow, combine flours, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Set aside

in large mixer bow, cream butter and sugar and add pumpkin, egg and vanilla. beat until light and creamy. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Drop by rounded teaspoons on to greased cookie sheets. Smooth tops of cookies. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 15-20 minutes or until lightly browned.

Drizzle with glaze

In small bowl, combine 2 cups sifted powdered sugar, 3 tablespoons milk, 1 Tablespoon melted butter or margarine, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Blend until smooth

Variations of cookies:
you can add 1 cup raisins
1 cup nuts
1 cup uncooked rolled oats and 1/2 cup pineapple crushed drained.
1 cup raisins and 1 cup chopped nuts
