Scones from England
3 3/4 cup flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 large tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cube butter
1 egg
1/2 cup raisins
milk
mix dry ingredients..work in butter, add egg, add raisins, add milk…enough milk to make a dough sticky about 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup. Roll on floured board and cut in squares. fold to make a triangle. rush with egg or margarine and bake in hot over 425 for about 15-20 min. If using buttermilk put about 1/2tsp soda
Personally I will take a tsp of melted butter and put on top of each, then put about a tsp of sugar on each and sprinkle with cinnamon.
