Hamburger Soup
1 1/2 – 3 pounds good hamburger…I like it best because it is not greasy
1 medium only chopped
1 large can diced tomatoes
either 3 cans sonsomme, or water to cover good and use like 4 bouillion cubes, or I use Mexican chicken soup powder and put about 1 large tablespoon in it. (yes…chicken broth)
4 to 6 carrots cut small
1 bay leaf
4-6 stocks of celery diced small..use tops too
2 Tab parsley
1/2 tsp thyme
If you use the mexican powder you don’t need salt, if not salt to taste…about 1 – 2 tsp…it is up to you
10 peppercorns
4-6 potatoes cut up (this goes in the last like 20 minutes), or you can use the canned potatoes that are diced and add them the last 20 minutes
Fry hamburger and onion first…drain oil
Add the rest of the ingredients and cook until carrots are cooked…add potatoes last 20 minutes…
